What To Expect

1

Day 01: Arrive Islamabad (512m)

Arrive in Islamabad and check in to a comfortable 3*/4* hotel. After breakfast, take a flight to Skardu with amazing views of Nanga Parbat. If the flight is canceled travel by road to Chilas (12–14 hrs.). Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Fly to Skardu (2,467m)

Morning flight to Skardu. If by road, continue driving from Chilas (9–11 hrs.). Afternoon free to rest or explore the local bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Skardu

A full day for official paperwork, checking gear and preparing for the trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Skardu to Askoli (3,000m)

Travel by 4×4 jeep for about 7 hours to Askoli the last village before the glacier. The road is rough and can have landslides. Overnight in tents.

Day 05: Askoli to Jhula (3,200m)

Trek 7–8 hours along the Baltoro River through green fields and over small bridges. Overnight in tents.

Day 06: Jhula to Paju (3,450m)

Walk 7–8 hours along the river with the first possible views of Broad Peak. Overnight in tents.

Day 07: Paju – Rest Day

A full day to rest and acclimatize. Optional short hike nearby. Overnight in tents.

Day 08: Paju to Urdukas (3,900m)

Trek 6–7 hours. Enjoy beautiful views of the mountains, including Broad Peak in the distance. Overnight in tents.

Day 09: Urdukas to Goro II (4,200m)

Trek 6–7 hours past stunning glaciers and peaks. Camp on the glacier. Overnight in tents.

Day 10: Goro II to Concordia (4,650m)

Trek 5–6 hours to the famous Concordia where four 8,000m peaks can be seen. Overnight in tents.

Day 11: Trek to Gasherbrum I Base Camp (5,150 m)

Trek 7–8 hours from Concordia to reach the base of Gasherbrum I — your climbing hub for the summit push. Say goodbye to the approach porters who supported the journey so far.

Days 12–40: Climbing Period

 Summit Window (29 Days)

 

Begin your ascent of Gasherbrum I via the classic Japanese Couloir or alternate routes. Establish higher camps, acclimatize, and wait for the best weather window.

Climbing duration varies depending on conditions and team pace.

 Overnight in high-altitude camps.

Day 41: Trek to Ali Camp (4,500 m)

Trek 5–6 hours south, crossing Baltoro Glacier’s moraine ridges and ascending the Vigne Glacier to Ali Camp. Rest early in preparation for the next day’s pass crossing.

 Overnight in tents.

Day 42: Cross Gondogoro La Pass (5,685 m)

Start before dawn for a 9–10 hour crossing of the legendary Gondogoro La. Use fixed ropes on steep snow sections. Enjoy panoramic views of the “Big Four” (K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II) and Laila Peak before descending the 45° snow slope to scree.

 Overnight in tents (camp location depends on team’s pace).

Day 43: Trek to Shaircho (3,350 m)

Descend 7–8 hours down the Gondogoro Glacier, passing through Dalsan and lush yak pastures. Reach Shaisho village near the Hushe roadhead.

 Overnight in tents.

Day 44: Trek to Hushe Village (3,000 m)

A shorter 3–4 hour trek through summer pastures along the Gondogoro River. Enjoy views of K6, K7, and Lingsar before arriving at Hushe — a charming mountain village.

 Overnight in tents.

Day 45: Drive Hushe ➝ Skardu (2,467 m)

Travel 5–6 hours by jeep along the Shyok and Indus Rivers. Afternoon debriefing at the Ministry of Tourism in Skardu.

Overnight in hotel.

Day 46: Skardu Debrief & Farewell Dinner

Wrap up the expedition with final debriefings and a celebratory farewell dinner with the team.

Day 47: Travel Skardu ➝ Chilas (1,265 m)

Fly to Islamabad if weather allows. If not, drive approximately 9 hours along the stunning Karakoram Highway to Chilas.

 Overnight in hotel.

Day 48: Drive Chilas ➝ Islamabad (512 m)

Free day in Islamabad or a 12-hour drive from Chilas to the capital.

 Overnight in hotel.

Relax, explore the city, or prepare for your onward journey.

Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your flight home.
